Nepal Trekking Regions

Everest Region

Walk to the foot of the highest mountain on Earth with Sherpa guides who call it home.

“Because it is there” was the reason George Leigh Mallory gave to explain why he wanted to climb Mt Everest in the 1920s. Almost a century later it’s a perfectly adequate response to the question is why thousands of trekkers choose to hike through the Solu Khumbu to the base of the world’s highest peak.

Everest is simply the best-known summit among dozens of bewitchingly beautiful mountains that flank valleys inhabited by people whose hospitality is celebrated worldwide. To trek to this land of superlatives needs no excuse.

It doesn’t matter if you say, Mount Everest, Sagarmatha, or Chomolungma (Mother Goddess of the World) it is the ultimate aim for all who dream of mountains. No wonder this journey has become the most popular trek in the Himalayas.

Because it is there.

Magical Nepal will take you to Everest on a budget, or in luxury, the choice is yours. If you wish to leave the crowds consider trekking to the North Face through Tibet. A road now leads all the way to the Rongbuk base camp 5182 m. You can even continue to Advanced Base Camp at 6492m if acclimatized properly.

Or, if you yearn for wilderness then come with us to the East or Kangshung Face, the least known and most challenging route of all. Camping in alpine meadows filled with wildflowers away from any crowds you spend most of your time above 4000m and cross the Karo La pass at  5300m. Along the way, you visit sacred lakes, glaciers, monasteries and ancient fortresses.

Besides observing Everest and its South Col from a rare perspective you also have views of Makalu and Lhotse, as well as a host of other significant summits to guarantee an unforgettable experience.
