Bardia National Park was untouched by the 2015 earthquake. It is the largest wilderness park in the Terai and is often described as Chitwan 30 years ago. While this park is remote and a long journey to get to it is worth it.
Canoe trips along the Geruwa river often spot mugger crocodiles and Gangetic dolphins. Although there are fewer tigers in Bardia than Chitwan you have a far better chance of seeing one here. Local guides know all the hot spots so don’t forget to bring your binoculars and telephoto lens.
