    Langtang Valley

    Solo traveller

I trekked the Langtang Valley with Magical Nepal, and the company genuinely impressed me: responsive, professional, and supportive and informative at every stage. From the airport pick-up all the way through to the trek, the whole process was seamless. I really appreciated their kindness, and I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again next time I come to trek in this beautiful country.

My guide Subash was fantastic. Because I hiked during monsoon and no one else had signed up, it ended up being a solo trek and we were so fortunate with the views. The whole experience was incredible, thanks partly to the stunning landscape and partly to Subash's wonderful presence as a guide. He may be young, but he's wise beyond his years, with a deep knowledge of local culture, and he shared stories, insights and information generously the whole way. If you book with Magical Nepal, I'd recommend him personally we had such a fun time. He made me feel safe throughout and was always responsive to what I needed. Between us there were plenty of jokes, cultural exchanges and beautiful moments in Langtang's breathtaking mountains.

Manaslu Circuit Trek with Sajan, Subash, Sagar, Anil and Rajan

    Solo traveller

If you're still wondering whether to book your trek with Magical Nepal, our advice is simple, go for it. From beginning to end, we had an incredibly positive experience.

One feature we really appreciated was the ability for solo trekkers to see who else had booked the trek before joining. We started as a group of six, with two friends traveling together and three solo trekkers. It didn't take long for everyone to connect, and the friendships we formed made the journey even more memorable.

Our guide, Sajan, and assistant guide, Subash, were knowledgeable, approachable, and fun to be around. They regularly checked in to make sure everyone was doing well and were always flexible, especially for the two of us who preferred a faster pace than the rest of the group.

A special thank you also goes to our porters: Sagar, Anil, and Rajan. Their hard work and support were invaluable, and we couldn't have completed the trek without them.

The teahouse accommodation was basic, as expected on this route, but we consistently felt that we were given some of the better rooms available. Sajan called ahead to arrange our stays, which made a noticeable difference. The food was enjoyable throughout the trek, and we drank plenty of delicious masala chai along the way.

Overall, we highly recommend booking with Magical Nepal. You'll be well looked after throughout your trek.

    Manaslu Circuit Trek!

    Solo traveller

This trip has been one of the best weeks of my life all thanks to our amazing guide (Sajan Tamang), assistant guide (Subash Tamang), the porters (Rajan, Sagar and Anil Tamang), and Magical Nepal!

I went with Magical Nepal because they were so responsive from the very start whenever I had a question, a clear, concise answer came straight back over WhatsApp. They sorted out transport from the airport to my accommodation, gave a thorough trip briefing in Kathmandu, and supplied the gear we needed: a puffer jacket and sleeping bag free of charge (though if you already own decent-quality ones, you're welcome to bring your own), plus crampons for a small fee.

Once the trek began, my group and I knew immediately we'd struck gold with our guides. Sajan put us completely at ease, and I felt I'd be in safe hands for the whole trip. Sajan and Subash struck the perfect balance of caring, funny and respectful. you could pepper them with a million questions and they'd answer every one, yet comfortable silences came just as easily. I can honestly promise the long walking hours pass enjoyably with Sajan or Subash leading the way, complete with bonus concerts (courtesy of Sajan) and photography skills (courtesy of Subash).

Sajan also made sure everyone's pace was accommodated. Quicker walkers could push ahead while staying safe and in contact, and slower walkers never felt like they were lagging, always having a guide or companion nearby. Each day was talked through after dinner the night before, so I always knew what to expect and the plan was clear. And again, any questions I had were answered plainly. I never felt I was taking up too much of the guides' time. Sajan was wonderful too when group members fell ill: he carried medical essentials for muscle cramps and made it clear we could reach him at any hour of the night if we needed help. When I had a headache during the Larke Pass, he checked in on me regularly, and his magical touch through manifestation and song healed every ailment.

Subash was equally incredible, both as a guide and as a Nepali language teacher! I'm certain he'll make a superb head guide on the Manaslu Circuit too. He never left anyone behind (and had remarkable running ability at altitude!). I'll be recommending both Subash and Sajan to anyone hoping to complete the Manaslu Circuit. Together with the porters they made a brilliant team, and they'd be fantastic working together or on their own.

Our porters : Rajan, Sagar and Anil Tamang were amazing as well. They were the real heroes of the trip and made the whole experience such a joy. They joined us on the Manaslu Base Camp acclimatization day and were a huge help in letting everyone move at a comfortable pace when the altitude bit. They consistently went above and beyond: at the Larke Pass, for instance, they carried our bags to the high point and then doubled back to check whether any of the hikers needed more help or a bit of support, physical or emotional. I loved how they greeted us with a high-five and a "good job" at the end of each day, even though they were the ones doing the truly hard work! I'm in awe of their strength and hope they realize how grateful I was for their help throughout. I'm so glad they were part of our trek, and if anyone's after porter recommendations, I'd very highly recommend Rajan, Sagar and Anil.

A tip: if you have decent-quality gear at home, bring your own sleeping bag and puffer jacket. The ones Magical Nepal provided were warm and clean but fairly bulky and heavy next to mine (which I'd wrongly assumed wouldn't be warm enough). I never actually wore the puffer jacket and used the sleeping bag just once when a liner plus the provided duvet would have done. That said, I trekked at the end of May, toward the warmer end of the season, so it may be different for anyone hiking closer to winter.

In hindsight, I could probably have managed the trek without a porter, but I hugely appreciated the help they gave, especially over the Larke Pass and during the first few long days while finding my rhythm. I'd say the same applies to most people who can pack reasonably light (under about 10 kg without water) and have some multi-day hiking experience.

The amenities and accommodation along the Manaslu Circuit were great too. There was plenty of food choice, with Subash and Sajan offering recommendations along the way. Most rooms were simple but had everything you'd need two beds and either an ensuite or a bathroom nearby. Higher up, the lodging was more basic but still clean and pleasant.

Magical Nepal also provided fresh fruit at every stop, which was a lovely surprise. In my opinion you don't really need to pack snacks, though a few chocolates along the way never hurt.

Although Magical Nepal suggested 2,000 rupees a day, you can definitely manage on less. It really comes down to how much you value hot showers, hot drinks and snacks. (If you do, budget around 3–5 dollars for each one you plan to use.) I took cold showers for a few days, which was honestly a mistake, as it helped give me a bit of a cold!

All in all, an amazing experience that I'll be recommending to lots of people. Thank you Sajan, Subash, Rajan, Sagar, Anil, and the other hikers (now friends) in my group who made this trek so unforgettable.

First multi day hike to Manaslu Circuit Trek with the most incredible people

Booking the Manaslu Circuit Trek with Magical Nepal turned out to be the best wild decision I've ever made. From the start, the team was incredibly helpful and quick to reply on WhatsApp, and their YouTube videos gave me more detail about the trip than I found anywhere else. The whole experience was run like clockwork. All six of us met at the Magical Nepal office beforehand and got a full briefing on what lay ahead.

Our crew made it: Sajan Tamang led as the main guide, Subash Tamang backed him up as assistant guide, and the brilliant porters : Anil, Rajan and Sagar kept the trip a blast the whole way. Sajan and Subash brought so much energy, humor and genuine care that I always felt completely safe. When I came down sick, they looked after me without missing a beat. [Protip: ask Sajan about the pancakes at Dharmasala 😉 and hand your camera to Subash :)]

Food-wise there's plenty beyond dhal bhat (though… dhal bhat power 24/7 💪🏻). Most tea houses have cold or hot showers, but I'd honestly stick to wet wipes I caught a fever after showering, so learn from my mistake :/ And please, carry your trash out with you; this place is far too beautiful to pollute.

I wouldn't think twice about booking another trek with Magical Nepal, and I'd have Sajan as guide again in a heartbeat. I came away with the best trekking buddies and an unforgettable experience. Huge thanks to everyone who made it so special :))

A taste of the diverse landscapes and cultures Nepal has to offer

    Solo traveller

When I started looking into the Manaslu Circuit, I contacted three companies. Magical Nepal stood out straight away: their website had the clearest information, and they were the quickest and most communicative in replying. That's why I booked with them.

One thing that settled my nerves early was being able to see who else had signed up for my departure before the trip even began. I had been genuinely anxious about doing this alone, and that removed the uncertainty. They picked me up at the airport, and the briefing came with maps, a few small goodies, and everything I needed to know. Their office is spotless and easy to get to.

The support team was excellent from start to finish. Head guide Sajan Tamang and his right hand Subhash Tamang kept us informed, motivated and entertained, and they had endless patience with our increasingly eccentric breakfast orders. Our group of six walked at very different speeds, and they handled that well. I always knew where I was headed, and when another trekker and I moved ahead of the group, we were given a walkie talkie. Sajan also managed the things nobody can plan for, like weather and illness in the group.

The porters were consistently friendly, even if their English was limited, and they carried 25 to 30kg along the trail. Pack light for their sake. Thanks to Rajan, Sagar and Anil Tamang.

For anyone who does regular cardio and hikes often, the trek itself was easier than I expected. The high point for me was Manaslu Base Camp at 4,800m, along with the cozy evenings by the fireplace with cards and ginger lemon honey tea.

A few practical notes. If you are used to packing light, washing clothes as you go, and through hiking, you probably don't need a porter. If you like having extra sets of clothes and your cosmetics, hire one. You can buy essentials along the trail, but prices climb steeply once you pass the road access areas, so carry enough cash if you want the occasional coffee, tea or sweet treat, and bring enough bars and snacks to see you through. Over 11 days, there were only two without power for charging or WiFi and data, so a huge power bank is unnecessary. I used the sleeping bag they provided just once, since every teahouse had blankets.

Overall it was a fantastic experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to book with Magical Nepal again, or to request Sajan. Thanks also to my five trekking companions, strangers at the start who became friends by the end.

    10/10 would recommend

    Solo traveller

Trekking the Manaslu Circuit with Magical Nepal was an amazing experience. It started on a high note: as a solo traveller, I chose to book with them because I loved being able to see in advance who else would be joining my group. And with world events throwing flight schedules into doubt at the time, the flexible cancellation policy was a real comfort. I landed in a group of wonderful people — a blend of fellow solo travellers and an already-formed group — and within just a couple of days it felt like we'd been friends for years.

Our guide Sajan and assistant guide Subash were endlessly kind, knowledgeable, fun and warm. They constantly checked in to make sure we were doing well and handling the altitude, so I always felt we were in safe hands. They were also mindful of the different paces in the group, making sure everyone's walking speed was accommodated. Our porters Sagar, Anil and Rajan were unfailingly friendly and gave us an extra boost of morale on the harder days.

The Manaslu Circuit itself was breathtaking — a rich mix of landscapes, terrain and cultures. The itinerary left ample time to acclimatise properly, with flexibility built in. The standout was the magnificent Larke Pass: a demanding but hugely rewarding day. Anyone with a reasonable fitness level should manage the Manaslu Circuit, provided you're ready for the odd tough day. The accommodation can be simple (expect days without wifi, electricity or a hot shower), but there's always a hot drink and great company waiting at the end of it.

All in all, I wouldn't think twice about booking with Magical Nepal again — the whole experience was smooth, well-organised and beautiful from beginning to end. Thank you!

A taste of the diverse landscapes and cultures Nepal has to offer

When I started planning a Manaslu Circuit trek, I contacted three different companies. Magic Nepal stood out right away — their website had the clearest, most detailed information, and they were quick and helpful every time I reached out, so the choice was easy. What really put me at ease was being able to see my fellow trekkers before we even set off; I'd been nervous about going solo, and that completely settled my worries. They arranged an airport pickup on arrival, and at the pre-trek briefing they handed out maps and a few thoughtful little extras along with everything we needed to know. Their office, by the way, is immaculate and easy to find.

The entire support crew was outstanding. Huge thanks to our lead guide, Sajan Tamang, and his second-in-command, Subhash Tamang, who kept us informed, encouraged, and laughing the whole way. They never lost patience with our increasingly odd breakfast requests, and they handled the very different walking speeds in our group of six brilliantly — I always knew exactly where to go, and when another trekker and I pushed ahead, they made sure we had a walkie-talkie. Sajan also stayed calm and capable through everything we couldn't plan for, from shifting weather to illness. The porters were wonderfully friendly even if their English was limited, and they worked incredibly hard hauling 25–30 kg up the trail (pack light, for their sake 😉). A special shoutout to Rajan, Sagar, and Anil Tamang.

For anyone who does regular cardio and hikes often, the trek felt easier than I expected. My favourite moments were reaching Manaslu Base Camp at 4,800 m and the snug evenings by the fire, playing cards over cups of ginger-lemon-honey tea. My advice: if you're comfortable travelling light, rinsing your own clothes, and you're used to multi-day treks, you probably don't need a porter — but if you'd like the comfort of extra clothing or toiletries, go ahead and hire one. You can buy pretty much any essential along the route, just know that prices climb steeply once you're past the road-accessible villages. Carry plenty of cash if you like the odd coffee, tea, or sweet treat, and bring enough snacks and bars to see you through. Over our 11 days, there were only 2 without power or WiFi/data, so there's no need for a giant power bank. I also only used the sleeping bag they provided once — every lodge had blankets.

All in all, it was a fantastic experience, and I wouldn't think twice about booking with Magic Nepal — and with Sajan in particular — again. And a final thank-you to my five trekking companions, all strangers at the start who became real friends through everything we shared.

    Adventure Awaits

Booking our trek with Magical Nepal couldn't have been simpler. Their website made the whole process smooth, and the team was remarkably quick to reply, every question I sent was answered almost right away.

The trek pushed me, but every bit of effort paid off. Our guide, Sajan Tamang, was outstanding. He stayed attentive throughout, kept the mood upbeat, explained everything clearly, and made sure we felt secure at every step. Ningma Sherpa, our porter, was a constant source of cheer, greeting us with a smile and having our gear set up by the time we reached each camp.

We ran into a small hiccup early on, but the company jumped on it and sorted it out without delay. I'd absolutely choose them for my next trek.
