Far West Region

Trekking in the Far West is an adventure and about as authentic as it gets. Remote trails wind through a land seemingly untouched by the hand of time, past lemon and orange groves and ancient flagstone medieval villages.

The Kingdom of Malla reigned here from the 12th to the 14th century and is not readily discernible today. But in a part of Nepal that history has left behind, the trekker is rewarded with the experience of what trekking must have been like when Nepal first opened its borders to the world.

Far west Nepal is a mix of magical landscape, culture, and spiritual heritage. It is land untouched by modernity and greatly endowed with natural beauty and wilderness. The Far West is rarely visited by westerners. Trails are wide, hill slopes are gentle, there are no major elevations, and trekking here requires no prior experience, and is suitable for all age groups.

Trekking here though is logistically complex; you need to bring your own porters as locals in this rarely visited region are extremely friendly but unfamiliar with trekking routines.

Superb views of the western Himalayas can be seen all the time during the trek. If you want to leave the crowds, and travel back in time it is the best alternate to the heavily crowded Annapurna and Everest regions.
